Don't judge a book by it's cover

June 30th, Journal Entry Week 4 Day 5

They say, do not judge a book by it's cover and in many instances, that is true. Many times, I found that after I got to know somebody I ended up being very surprised. There was a very different person from what I expected behind that appearance. It is true, looks are not everything. That said, you can not look in everybody for the good inside of them. I used to look for the good inside of everybody. I used to see a run-down drug addict and think that they just had a bad childhood and I could make a difference. Well in some people, or actually a lot of people's life, you can not make a difference. A lot of times they look the way they do for a reason. They have the life they have for a reason. We live in a country that has plenty of aide for people to better themselves. I would understand if we lived in a developing country but we live in a wealthy country with plenty of opportunities. I am not talking about being attractive, I am talking about being clean, well mannered and not appearing intoxicated in public. It seems as there are many such people in this world, especially in my age group. My hatred for such people probably stems from my bad experience with people that were the same and I may be judging, but you are what you are. If you do not have enough respect for yourself to clean yourself up, well than I don't have respect for you. And don't ask me for favors either, because you spent all your money on you know what. Maybe coming off a little harsh but it is what it is, so if you do not like me or my views I am probably better off without you anyways. Keeping it short and sweet.

Summer Fun

June 29th, Journal Entry Week 4 Day 4
So I set up the pool today. Took me all day to clean it and set it up. Anything to make the kids happy, right? I have been working on teaching the kids how to swim. They seem to have overcome some of their fear of water. You see all these news about children drowning in pools. Makes me kind of worried. They need to be able to at least float. Takes a lot of work to keep up with a pool. Every summer I fight with the thought of setting the pool up, but every year the children win. They just know how to wear a parent down. All in all I look forward to swimming and spending time with the family here at the house, instead of having to pay to take them to the public pools. It is easier to take them out back instead of driving across town to the YMCA. You figure they would be satisfied but than they always have the next thing that they want. It is hard to find a balance between spoiling the kids and being reasonable to their needs and wants. So give it a day or two and they will want more stuff. Between lights, floats toys and all the other bells and whistles that come with the pool, we will see where I draw the line. And than there is the neighbors. Seems like as soon as I get the pool up, it is surrounded by thousands of neighborhood kids that want to swim, want to be feed, pretty much want to live at my house. For the most part I think my kids are pretty good at working me over. But I love them and they are worth it.

I believe people on welfare should be drug tested

I believe that people on welfare should be drug tested, because there are so many good people out there that need welfare and can not get it because the funds are being used for those people. The drug users make it hard for people that genuinely need help to receive it. I believe the government is too lenient to people that abuse the system. I think that the government needs to provide a mandatory birth control system for people on welfare, so they don’t overpopulate the world with children that they can not take care of. I am drawing a blank. Ten minutes is too long to talk abouit welfare . It really is short and sweet. Drug users should not receive it, needy people should. Is the ten minutes over yet. I am not on welfare and I have three kids. But I do not use drugs so they wont give me welfare. Maybe if I picked up a drug habit they would give me welfare too. But unlike most people I have pride being a good dad and not being a sponge living off the government. What is the best way to starve a welfare bum? Hide his foodstamps under his workboots. That was a good one. Sometimes listening to myself I make myself laugh. Welfare bums are my favorite people to bash on. Is my ten minutes up yet. I have three minutes left. Seems like I have to keep dwelling on welfare bums. I have three children. Why should I pay for thousands of people on welfare?I take care of my three kids, why should I take care of other people’s kids. They are perfectly capable of working just like the next man but won’t do it because they have big brother “the government” taking care of them. Well I am about finished venting. I will use my time sparingly and waste my time using long sentences. Thank you The end. Get well America.

Jung Typology Test

I took the Jung typology test and I was labelled a ESTJ, an extraverted, sensing, thinking, judging type. It says I would thrive on order and rules and like to enforce rules. ESTJ's are orthodox and like to stick to the normal. ESTJ's will also stick up for what they believe is right even against all odds.
ESTJ's are extraverted thinkers that can make impersonal decisions.
I do not know if the above summary, which is not complete by the way, is an accurate description of me as a person and as a writer.
I am extraverted and will speak my mind, but a lot of times, I do not agree with authority or the order of things and will question them. I also tend to overthink situations and tend to be lost in my thoughts.
It seems to me the typology test portrayed my type as a rule enforcer that is impersonal and materialistic. I am not that person. I think that you have to work hard to get what you want, but each individual is of importance as well.
The same goes for my writing. I do not simply state the facts when I write as the typology test would suggest, I like to be creative and relate to the stories that I have read or the characters I have created.
Some points of the typology test seem to be true such as I like certain things to be in order and neat such as my work area and my assignments.
After all, this is just a test and can not capture your whole personality in 70 questions.
