Growing up

July 11th, week 6 day 2 Journal Blog entry

When my children were born it was the greatest day in the world but soon I realized it is a lot of work. When you have a newborn you can't wait till they reach certain levels. You wish that soon they will sleep through the night. Than you wish they could speak so they could tell you what they want instead of crying all night. Later on you wish they would be potty trained so that you don't have to deal with the diaper changes anymore. Than you wish they could walk, so they can be more independent. The list goes on and on, until you realize that they are growing up so fast.
My oldest daughter started school last year. She is getting more and more independent every day. It made me realize how fast those first years really passed. It seems as if yesterday she said her first word "Dada". Before I know she will be applying to colleges. Time passes so fast and I can only hope I will equip her with the morals and standards that will guide her through life well.
I am teaching my other two boys how to fish and ride their bikes. Soon they will be in school. I was so anxious for them to grow up and learn new things but know I realize that time flies by and sooner than later, my children will be grown adults and have families of their own.
I work hard to teach my children good values. I spent a lot of time with them and at times I feel as all I am doing is cater to the children‘s need all day. It is worth it though because one day when they have families of their own, they can use those principles to guide their own children.
