July 12th, Week 6 Day 3 Journal blog entry
I have not had a real vacation in years. I had time off but that time was spent at home and still taking care of responsibilities. It seems as all my neighbors and friends have been enjoying their summer by going on trips, such as Las Vegas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Germany etc.
I think I need a break from the everyday responsibilities too. It is not a vacation when you stay around the house and do yard work, take care of the children and have chores to do. I have big plans for my vacation that I will have one day. I want to go somewhere with my fiancé, where the sand is white and the water is blue. I want to be laying in a hammock , tied to two palm trees, with a couple of coronas in arm’s length. No communication devices will be allowed whatsoever, with girls in grass skirts bringing me drinks, before my glass is empty. I won’t have to lift a finger, just lay on the beach and get tan. All I will have to worry about is what I will drink next. After I feel as if I have been on the beach long enough I will go to an exotic buffet, maybe eat some alligator tail, baby goat tacos and anything else I want to try.. The next day after sleeping in as long as I want and sleeping off the drinks and the exotic food, I will make scuba diving my second adventure. Maybe go diving around some corral reefs and chasing Nemos around the water, but not try to pull a Steve Irwin and hang out with the sting rays.
Who knows I may just end up making a career out of it, a career out of being on vacation.
One day I will have that awesome trip, hopefully next year.
